School to Watch
La Hoya Middle School has been selected as one of Schools to Watch by the National Forum. This program identifies model middle-grade schools that are academically engaging, developmentally responsive, socially equitable, and have a culture of collaborative leadership. It focuses on school improvement efforts characterized by a continuous trajectory toward success.
The California Schools to Watch program is led by the California League of Educators and supported by the California Department of Education (CDE).
Promising Practices School
La Hoya Middle is recognized as a Promising Practices School. Promising Practices schools have strong evidence of the solid foundation required to become a Model Professional Learning Community (PLC) at Work and share at least one year of data that shows student achievement growth.
A Professional Learning Community is a community of educators committed to working collaboratively to facilitate ongoing processes of collective inquiry and action research, which helps them achieve better results for the students they serve.
